Game Rules – Spinner Domino
- Number of Players: 2 to 8
- Domino Set: Double‑9 set plus 11 “Spinner” tiles (66 tiles total)
- Objective: Have the lowest score at the end of the game
- Tile Draw: With 2 players, each draws 14 tiles; with 3–8 players, each draws 7 tiles. The rest form the boneyard (draw pile).
- Spinner Tiles: Wild cards that match any value.
Starting the Round (Set)
The first player must place the 9‑9 tile or a Double‑Spinner (as a substitute for 9‑9). If no one has it, the dealer draws from the boneyard in turn until it appears, then places it in the center of the table.
Gameplay
- On your turn, play a tile matching an open end of the layout or a Spinner wild. If you can’t, draw one tile and pass if you still can’t play.
- After playing a double, the next three plays must be made on that double. Tiles must match its value or be a Spinner. If you can’t, draw one tile.
- Once three tiles are played on the double, the next player may play on any open end. Tip: play large doubles early to block opponents.
Ending a Hand
A hand ends when a player plays all their tiles. Remaining players tally points: each pip = 1 point; each Spinner = 10 points; Double‑Spinner = 20 points. E.g., a 7|Spinner counts as 17 points.
Starting the Next Hand
Similar to the first set but descending: Hand 2 starts with 8|8 (or Double‑Spinner), Hand 3 with 7|7, down to 0|0.
Winning the Game
After all hands, add each player’s scores. The player with the lowest total wins.
Shortening the Game (Optional)
To shorten play, each hand automatically starts with that hand’s corresponding double: Hand 1 with 9|9; if no one has it, with 8|8; then 7|7; etc.
